Levels of Study
English+ Canada online language courses are designed for children, youth, and adults of all ages.
Lessons are customized based on prescribed curriculum for the grade or appropriate skill level of the student: beginner, intermediate and advanced. Prospective students are encouraged to test their English proficiency prior to registration.
Grades 1-7
(Elementary)
For the youngest of our learners, in these lessons teachers will use a variety of fun tools and resources to keep the lessons dynamic and engaging. The focus is on basic language acquisition through stories, songs and vocabulary building. Literacy skills will also be addressed with detailed progress tracking.
Teachers will build upon the students’ previous education and English language acquisition to improve listening, speaking, reading and writing skills for everyday use.
Grades 11-12
(Pre-University)
Students will focus on using language skills to write a variety of academic essays incorporating advanced vocabulary. They will also read and analyze adapted and original texts, make oral presentations and formulate arguments in debates on topics of personal and international interest.
Along with language competency, teachers will help each student achieve academic readiness for university admissions, including preparing for English language tests.
Grades 8-10
(Secondary)
Teachers will work on expanding students’ listening, speaking, reading & writing skills for everyday social and academic purposes. Students will grow their knowledge of grammatical structures and sentence patterns, participate in structured conversations, and read a variety of adapted texts.
Students wanting to improve their English language skills to continue their secondary school education in Canada or the U.S.A. will greatly benefit from these dynamic and customized lessons.
University & Workplace
(Academic & Professional)
Aimed at young adults and professionals, focus is placed on using English with fluency and accuracy in the classroom, boardroom, business & social situations. Along with mastering academic vocabulary and writing skills necessary for success in Canadian and American universities, students will learn to research, analyze and provide critical assessments.
Teachers will prepare students for English language tests (IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, CAE and FCE) – equipping them with the techniques, skills and experience needed to achieve their goals.
